Encourage children to discover the world, with a suite of parental controls
A world of learning and fun, made just for kids
We created YouTube Kids to make it safer and simpler for children to explore the world through online video – from their favourite shows and music to learning how to build a model volcano (or make slime), and everything in between. There’s also a whole suite of parental controls, so you can tailor the experience to your family’s needs.
A safer online experience for kids
We use a mix of filters, user feedback and human reviewers to keep the videos in YouTube Kids family friendly. But no system is perfect and inappropriate videos can slip through, so we’re constantly working to improve our safeguards and offer more features to help parents create the right experience for their families.
Get the scoop on all the control features available to you:
Create up to eight child profiles, each with their own viewing preferences, video recommendations and settings.
Select collections of channels on a variety of subjects by trusted partners and YouTube Kids.
PARENT APPROVED CONTENT:
Make sure that you’re in control of what your children watch and hand-pick the videos, channels and collections of channels that they can see.
Found a video or channel that you don’t want your child to watch? Block it to automatically remove it from all of your children’s profiles.
Alert us immediately by reporting videos that shouldn’t be in the app. The video will be sent to us for fast review.
Turn search on so that your children can access more videos. Turn search off for a more contained experience by limiting the experience to channels that have been verified by YouTube Kids.
Set up a timer to put limits on how long your children can use the app.
Keep tabs on what your children are watching in the app.
WATCH ON TV:
Gather your family and enjoy YouTube Kids on select TVs.

Parental setup is required to ensure the best experience possible for your child.
YouTube Kids contains paid ads in order to offer the app for free. Your child may also see videos from YouTube creators with commercial content in them that are not paid ads.
IMPORTANT LINK :
Important information for parents with Family Link Google accounts.
You can create Google Accounts for children under the age of 13 in Family Link. Your children can sign into YouTube Kids with their Family Link Google Account. You can access parental settings in the Family Link app and enable an additional content level setting in our app. Opt in to an ‘older’ setting if you feel that your child is ready for less restricted videos. These videos may contain some explicit language and imagery, violence and suggestive content. In addition, this setting tries to exclude mature content, but no automated system is perfect and your child may find content with nudity, highly offensive language and extreme violence. Please note that parent approved content is not available if you sign into YouTube Kids with Family Link Google accounts.
The Privacy Notice for Google Accounts created in Family Link describes our privacy practices when your child uses YouTube Kids with their Family Link Google Account. When your child uses YouTube Kids without signing into their Family Link Google Account, the YouTube Kids Privacy Notice applies.
Videos uploaded by users to YouTube are not Paid Ads and therefore they are not marked as an Ad nor are they subject to our advertising policies. This may also include content about or from companies who may have also purchased Ads in the app. For example, a search for trains could result in train cartoons, songs and videos of real trains, as well as a TV commercial for toy trains uploaded by a user or a toy train company, none of which we consider as Paid Ads, as they are not part of the YouTube Kids advertising program. Likewise, a search for chocolate can show a user-uploaded video on making chocolate fudge even though we do not allow paid Ads for chocolatiers. Learn more about Videos on YouTube Kids.
We will remove videos from the YouTube Kids app where the creator has notified us of a paid product placement or endorsement in their video through YouTube’s paid product placement and endorsement notification tools
